Generally. We collect personal information from our users in order to provide you with a personalized, useful and efficient experience. The categories of information we collect can include:
You may use the Service without providing any personal information. We may collect and store personal information you provide to us through the Service, which may include your name, your photo or image, or other information you input through the Service. We may also collect any communications between you and Baidu.
Our Service allows you combine a photo or video of your face with other images or facial enhancements. In order to provide this Service, Baidu's technology will collect and identify your facial features and facial geometry in order to combine the face image with other images or enhancements. Baidu may use this information to provide the Service to you, and to further develop and enhance Baidu's proprietary technology and Service. While you may store your images directly on your own device, Baidu does not store your facial geometry or biometric information after you delete or locally save the finished image. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about Baidu’s use of facial geometry information. By participating in the Service, you consent to allow Baidu to collect and use your facial geometry information as disclosed in this Policy.
We may receive personal information about you from third parties and combine that with information we collect through our Service. The data we receive from these third party apps is dependent upon that third party’s policies and your privacy settings on that third party app. You should always review, and if necessary, adjust your privacy settings on third-party apps and services before linking or connecting them to our Service.
With your permission, we may access your contact list available on your mobile device so that our automatic reply feature can identify your contacts to suggest relevant replies. We will not use the information contained in your Address Book for any purpose other than to suggest replies through our automatic reply feature. For information on how you may control the Service’s access to your device information, see “Your Choices Regarding Your Information” below.
We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Service, as well as to communicate directly with you, such as to send you email messages and push notifications, and permit you to invite others to join the Service. We may also send you Service-related emails or messages (e.g., change or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). For more information about your communication preferences, see “Your Choices Regarding Your Information” below.
Certain features of the Service require access to additional information. With your consent, the Facemoji Keyboard app will access to your device microphone in order to activate voice input, and will access your camera roll so that you may select a photo to customize your keyboard. Baidu allows you to use your device’s voice input to convert your voice into text. When you use the voice input function, Baidu collects and stores the content of your voice, the text transcription of the spoken words, and the date and time when voice is transformed into words. Your voice information will be used to provide voice to text functionality, to improve the Service’s voice input function, and to develop, create, improve, optimize, maintain, and otherwise enhance its automatic speech recognition and voice transcription technology, and natural language understanding software products, services, or platforms.
If you enable our automatic reply feature, we collect and analyze the content of SMS messages you receive on your device in order to generate suggested replies. We may also access your contact list available on your mobile device to better predict the names of your contacts with more precision, as described above.
We collect information as you use the Service, such as the words and phrases you use often, your particular writing style, how often you backspace, and how you press the keys on the Facemoji Keyboard app. This information allows us to create a language model, which helps us to optimize and improve word prediction, minimized user errors, and increase the accuracy of key presses. This information is collected first on your local device and none of the text you type will be transmitted to Baidu unless you explicitly opt-in. If you consent to share this information with Baidu, Baidu takes certain steps to de-identify, aggregate and/or otherwise minimize the possibility that Baidu inadvertently collect information that could be considered personal in nature. Depending on the type of data, these steps could include: word randomization on the local device prior to transmission, sampling, de-identification, aggregation, and encryption. Additionally, Baidu does not collect text that is comprised of only numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers, or that contains @, to attempt to avoid the collection of information that may be considered sensitive like account information or email addresses. Baidu also does not collect any information from fields in which the website or application developer has indicated are for password or payment card data. You may withdraw your consent for Baidu to collect this information by turning off the “Share usage statistics” switch in Settings > Input > Advanced or visiting the user’s device settings to withdraw total access. If you do not consent to share this data with us, you may still access and use the core functionality of the Facemoji Keyboard app, but certain features like word prediction may not be available to you.
We, and our third party partners, automatically collect certain types of usage information when you use our Service, read our emails, or communicate with us. We typically collect this information through a variety of tracking technologies, including cookies, pixels, SDKs, web beacons, file information and similar technology (collectively, “tracking technologies”). For example, we collect information about your device and its software and about the way you use the Service, such as the type of device, physical dimension, division ratio, CPU type, memory capacity, operating system version, version of Facemoji Keyboard, keyboard type and typing performance when using Facemoji Keyboard, crash information (such as defects that occurred), and unique ID for each Facemoji Keyboard installed. When you upload photographs or videos, those files may contain location information or other metadata. This metadata may be accessible to others if you share content on the Service.
Although we do our best to honor the privacy preferences of our Users, we are not able to respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser at this time. We do not permit third party online advertising networks to collect information about your use of our app over time so that they may play or display advertising on our Service, on other devices you may use, as well as on other websites, apps or services.
We may use the data collected through tracking technologies to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Service; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information, including advertising; (c) identify you across multiple devices; (d) provide and monitor the effectiveness of our Service; (e) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, usage, and demographic patterns on our Service; (f) diagnose or fix technology problems; and (g) otherwise to plan for and enhance our Service.
We may share your personal information in the instances described below. For further information on your choices regarding your information, see the “Your Choices Regarding Your Information” section below.
